Welcome to the
Junior Global Citizen Club!
It was The Remarkable Maria that brought us together. Maria told us her brave story about being a little girl affected by HIV/AIDS. We talked about her story, we made “Maria for President” posters and we shared our ideas about helping children around the world affected by HIV/AIDS. Good job, everyone!
Ollie’s Field Journal took us on a journey around the world to learn about an issue facing over 60 million children: malnutrition. There is lots of attention on the problem of hunger around the world. But Ollie showed us that is is important to remember that children and babies suffering from malnutrition have special needs. We stamped our feet to show our support!
Now, there is Theo in the Spotlight. When Theo learns about a humanitarian emergency in Darfur he decides that he would like to “not just not sleep” – but, instead, do something that would raise some money to help – and some awareness. Theo, rocks!
So, be it resolved, as Junior Global Citizens, we will learn, we will share our ideas –and we will continue to work to put issues we care about in the spotlight.
All in favour? Say “Aye!”
